Preppy Lifestyle

| SalvEdge Boutique  x  Knit Me Up |

I'm very excited to announce a recent collaboration I've been working on with SalvEdge Boutique over the last few weeks! It all started when I was browsing through Instagram one day. A high fashion yet affordable consignment store popped onto my newsfeed and I couldn't put my phone down. Every item was attractive and well priced and they had so many fashionable options; shoes, bags, jewellery and clothes. So you can imagine my excitement when we decided to work together on this beautiful partnership - SalvEdge X Knit Me Up.

The SalvEdge Experience

Right when I walked in, I knew my shopping experience would be different from a typical mall. The SalvEdge store at beltline had a New York City loft appeal and playing in the background were some R&B/Soul sounds. After walking in I was instantly greeted by the sweetest stylists ever (Lucy & Ali) and I wasn't the only one they greeted. Every single customer that walked in was approached like an old friend and it was quite refreshing to see how authentic they were. With their help, I started my intense shopping to discover what the store had to offer. I came across so many different brands and clothes, from Hugo Boss to Wilfred, DKNY, Zara, Lululemon, Gucci and many more. I loved that I had such a diverse collection of styles, colours, prices and most of all brands. With so many options and styles to choose from, it didn't take too long before I had a room full of clothes.

creating A Preppy OUTFIT

Okay disclaimer, I'm not a brand snob at all but from a young age I have always loved burberry! Something about their preppy style, iconic trench coats and the beautiful check design that is so distinguishable. So what does that have to do with this outfit ? Well Burberry was what led me to this preppy lifestyle look. After spotting a crisp white Burberry polo shirt - I didn't care how, all I knew was that I had to work it into an outfit!

My Burberry Moment - Featuring a polo Shirt

I began by adding a high-waist straight skirt to create a preppy look but felt that it was a bit too sporty. So I decided to throw on a stunning grey jacket with soft ruffles. The jacket added a chic and classy element to the outfit, making it less sporty. To finish it, the mini clutch was an excellent addition both to compliment the darker grey jacket and to colour block the burgundy skirt.
