I don't believe that working a 9-5 job means your style has to be dry and monotonous. I used to think the more serious you looked at work, especially being an ambitious woman, the more serious they take you. Wearing knee length straight skirts, dark grey colours and waist length cardigans does not necessarily mean others will take you seriously. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but dressing with playful colours and modern styles doesn't make you less adequate or professional. If anything it strengthens your brand and confidence, and it says you know yourself and know how to dress well.

Are you a "typical 9-5 dresser" ...

Add some colour to your outfit, whether light or dark shades. As you can see my ankle pants are dark blue while the belt is light brown.
Be a "minimalist" because less is more. There are only two items in this outfit, technically three but the jacket is for wearing outdoors. Simplicity is your best friend!
