Dressing Up Your Little Black Dress

Everyone needs an LBD, a cute and sexy number that is wearable for almost any event. In case you're not sure what an LBD is, its a Little Black Dress - every closet needs one. Over the Holidays I was blessed with some gifts from Tobi.com, and this dress stole my heart. At first, I was quite nervous because well ... I have a larger bust. Wearing a dress like this doesn't have the same effect on me as on someone will a smaller chest. So I had to play a little dress up with myself to find a solution that was still sexy, but classy.

Play Dress Up With Your Clothes

"Playing dress up" means trying different things on until you are satisfied with your look. Thats one of the ways I achieve different looks with the same clothes. For this dress, I had to find an alternative that would cover my bust and not take away from the dress.

VOILA, I styled the dress with A BANDEau, but i had to play dress up

Believe it or not, I played around with countless bandeau's to find one that well suited the dress. Lesson learned here is don't give up on yourself when playing dress up - sometimes it can be a lengthy process but always worth it hahaha.

how to Play Dress Up With Your LBD

1. I always suggest changing up your shoes when you want to create a different look with the same clothes. So for this dress up, we'll add some leopard print loafers. Wearing flat shoes typically dresses down an outfit but these loafers still keep things fashionable. The black and brown colour scheme of the print also matches my wallet so clearly it's meant to be hehe!

2. Adding an item to the outfit always changes your look as well, it's a very simple way to play with an outfit. My additional item is a bit out there but yours doesn't have to be. I just like pairing unique clothes and thinking outside the box. So for this dress up I'm adding a black & white bomber biker jacket because its risky, different and I've been obsessing over this jacket style for a while.
